Location: London, UK
Completion Date: Planning
Client: Queen Mary University of London
The University intends to enclose the clinical waste bins and generator/plant area belonging to the School of Biological Science and Chemistry Building. The perforated metallic finish has been chosen for consistency with the rest of the enclosure facilities within the campus.
We aim to provide a pragmatic solution to a practical need, as well as to bring joy to the users and passersby within the approved budget. Urban foxes are part of many Londoners’ memories and they are often found near the waste bins. A pattern based on this theme was therefore developed, in order to enliven an otherwise purely utilitarian structure, and provide a pleasant meeting space.
