This is the new flagship of Just Inn, an affordable, art-led Taiwanese hotel chain with locations in Taipei City and Kaohsiung. The art/architectural project is situated in Central Taipei city, just a few blocks away from the National Taiwan Museum. The existing eleven-storey, 22,000 sqft building, including basement, was originally built in the 70s as the office for an insurance company. It will undergo a complete renovation to accommodate 59 bedrooms on the upper floors, a featured restaurant on 1F, and, most importantly, a free art space on the groundfloor and basement, which will host an international artist-in-residence programme. The design was created by Tszwai So in collaboration with Just Inn, and is the first built project inspired by principles stemming from the International Emotionalism movement. This movement was established by a group of academics, artists, journalists and architects who question the meaning of art and architecture in the AI-dominated age.

The project is currently under construction and scheduled to open in December 2023.
